Proposals for comprehensive privacy legislation have been around for years, but the Facebook hearings in April showed renewed political will for some kind of privacy regulation.  New proposal have emerged and others are in the works.  Cameron Kerry, an architect of the Obama Administration’s Consumer Privacy Bill of RIghts, will lead a discussion among key players on Capitol Hill, civil society, and the private sector to discuss the substantive and political issues involved, the challenges, and and the prospects for privacy legislation in the months ahead.
